Program
Highlights
|
Kick
off a SinS-ful weekend by exploring the dark side of "Toronto the
Good." On our Ghost Walk through the heart of downtown Toronto we
will visit haunted Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian landmarks, some
with a connection to Arthur Conan Doyle. You may "meet" a
faceless nun, a decapitated salesman, the Lavender Lady and a host of
famous and infamous former Torontonians including mayor and rebel
William Lyon Mackenzie, Father of Confederation George Brown and
Canada’s last executed criminals.
|
 |
The program includes a roster of
exciting and stimulating speakers from the world of
Sherlock Holmes, Arthur Conan Doyle and beyond. |
 |
Our Saturday evening gala banquet
features a séance that will attempt to
put us in contact with Arthur Conan Doyle and put to rest some of the
contentious questions surrounding his life once and for all. |
 |
A special Sunday morning dramatic presentation, the premiere of The Crossing,
written by Barbara Rusch and performed by John Huston, will include
appearances from some of ACD’s literary influences with reputations as
controversial as his own. The sparks fly as three legends - Oscar
Wilde, Edgar Allan Poe and Harry Houdini - meet in the afterlife with a
mission to accomplish. |

|
During
the conference and at the banquet, our own "Duet With an Occasional
Chorus," Karen Campbell and Craig Brtnik, will entertain us with their
delightful Sherlockian musical parodies.
